What I Did on My Summer Vacation

We're home!!  Actually, we returned home last Wednesday, but it has taken me this long to get my act together and sort pictures.  I have said for years that I have the world's largest collection of pictures taken from a moving vehicle.  Well, the collection has grown considerably!  We drove 4618 miles and covered 12 states in 13 days.  And three days were spent in San Francisco!  It was a fascinating trip.  Ron was stationed at Treasure Island Naval Station for three years during the late 1960s, but I had never been there.  It was good to see where he lived at the Presidsio and where he worked at Treasure Island.

We had a great time doing all the touristy things -- up and down Lombard Street, Fisherman's Wharf, Coit Tower, Twin Peaks, Chinatown, Muir Woods, three Sonoma wineries and so much more.  Then it was on to Hoover Dam followed by the Grand Canyon. I hope you enjoy a few of the 600+ photos I took.  There are even some that were not taken through a window!!

I loved the trip -- it was awesome -- but it was so good to be back home in beautiful southeast Minnesota where the grass is lush and green, not brown!
