What do you do with 60 lbs of alfalfa seed?

Make a tote bag, of course!  (Well, out of the empty bag, anyway.)

I found this vintage seed bag in an antique store and just love the graphics.  I used a plaid twill fabric for the lining, shoulder strap, a top band and the bottom.  The green graphics were all on the front of the sack and it was big enough to use for the front and the back of my tote bag.  I still have the whole back of the sack to use for another project.

Another Vintage Treasures Market Coming Soon!

Excitement is already building for the second annual

In case you don't remember, our first market was last year in June.  There were about a dozen of us vendors set up in tents for a 2-day sale of our vintage treasures.

The event was hosted by the Pfarkel sisters of Junk re{defined} and was held at the Victorian Lace Inn in St. Charles.  Well, it was so successful and so much fun, we decided to make it an annual event!!  This year's sale dates are Friday and Saturday, June 18 and 19.  It's easy to remember -- that's Father's Day weekend.

There is still time to register to be a vendor, but you should do so soon if you want your name included in the advertising.  You can leave a message here, shoot me an email or contact Sharon Vreeman at for more information.

Last year we had a blast and this year promises to be at least as much fun!!
