I Have a Prescription for That

Feeling sick?  Pain in your side?  Tickle in your throat?  Headache and dizzy?

I have a prescription for that.  In fact, I have a lot of prescriptions.  I may just have a prescription for whatever it is that ails you.  Just give me a minute to locate one with the correct dosage.  It's here somewhere in this box -----

There are eight  - count 'em  - 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - that's  EIGHT boxes of prescriptions.

Numbered sequentially in each box.  The oldest box is 1905.  There are a couple in 1916-17, another in 1927-28 and several with dates 1948-1951.  Each box holds about 1000 prescriptions.  What is interesting is the length of time it took to fill one box -- anywhere from 2 months to 12 months.  These are all from pharmacies in Chatfield, Minnesota, with a variety of druggist and doctors.  Even a few from the Mayo Clinic.  If none are missing (did the narcs always go in a different box?), there are about 7,000 prescriptions without counting the box for narcotics!  So it may take me just a little while to locate the proper script for that pain in your ...  ah, neck, ya, that's it, the pain in your neck.

So what do I do with all this?  They'd be cute for get well cards and scrapbooking / collage / altered art projects.  But I can't possibly use all of them myself.  I'm leaning towards opening an Etsy store.  Any thoughts for me?  I have a lot of things I could sell on Etsy.  Vintage photos, sewing notions, lace, buttons, sheet music, books, that sort of stuff.  An ephemera-lover's delight.  None of it is from family, so I can part with it easily.  It's just stuff I have picked up here and there.  Ideas and suggestions appreciated!
