Happy Thanksgiving

Well, the guests have all gone home and it is calm and quiet at our house. What a beautiful day it was with our home full of family. I hope you each had a wonderful day as well.

Kris Kringle Market

The Kris Kringle Market at Red Barn MN started today. I haven't had a report yet from Kari as to how things went, but I have a feeling it's been a good day.

My camera batteries were dead yesterday and the spares, freshly charged, were at home. Can't believe I did that. I took a few shots with my phone but they just didn't do justice to the awesome items that were available.

Stephanie made some beautimous grapevine trees. The photo shows nothing but blurry lights. And the same goes for my glitzy alpine trees. Blurrrrrrrr. Dang.







Oh, did I tell you what I found when I came home after three days at the October sale at Red Barn?


This is a 1952 army truck -- probably a fire truck. Apparently we really needed a red army fire truck. That's what happens when your husband goes to an auction with the guys while you are out of town.

I'm heading back to Red Barn MN on Saturday morning. Our new living room furniture gets delivered Saturday afternoon, just in time for Thanksgiving. One good purchase deserves another, don't you think? I guess we really did need that red army truck!

On the Road Again!

In an hour or so I'm taking the Womb with a View on another road trip to rural Buffalo MN -- three hours each way. Today is set up day at Red Barn MN for the Kris Kringle Market that starts tomorrow. There will be goodies galore, both old and new for Christmas gift giving and decorating. I hope to come home this afternoon with a lot of pictures of Kari's Red Barn all decked out, ready for shoppers.

I'll be going back on Saturday to work in the afternoon. The harvest sale at the barn in October was terrific. It will be interesting to see what effect the economy will have on this 'market.' Stay tuned!


For those of you in the southern part of Minnesota, don't forget that From the Heart Boutique in St. Charles is open now, each Friday - Sunday, for the Christmas season. That little cottage is bursting at the seams with seasonal and everyday gifts and decor. If you've never been there, you are missing a real treat!

Kris Kringle Market at Red Barn Minnesota

Join us at Red Barn Minnesota in rural Buffalo MN for the Kris Kringle Market. This shoppers’ delight will be held Thursday, Friday and Saturday, November 20, 21 and 22 beginning at 9 a.m. each day.

You’ll find holiday gifts and décor, most of it made in America and much of it hand made by local artisans. There will, of course, be great furniture pieces by Kari, owner of Red Barn, MN. Many of the pieces she makes incorporate old windows, old doors or other pieces of reclaimed wood. There will also be sweet holiday treats and even some vintage and antique treasures.

We won't each have individual booths this time. Rather, all of our goodies will be displayed together throughout the barn. This should be interesting!

You don’t want to miss this opportunity to shop at the Red Barn. It’s rumored that Kris Kringle himself will pay a visit on Saturday afternoon!
