Getting ready for the Junk Bonanza

Each day at the shop last week was equivalent to a Christmas open house day – only better! So far this week I have been at the shop on both Monday and Tuesday rearranging and have had shoppers both days. Only two weekends left. My last day open is July 5. I have until the 14^th to pack up, clean up and move on.

Then, after catching my breath for a couple of days, I have to get busy creating for the Junk Bonanza that is coming up in September. I am sharing two booths there with friends Sharon, Diane and Janell, better known as the Pfarkle Sisters.

We, along with other Women in Business, have been turning trash into treasure for years. I have sold a few things in my shop, but most of our creations have been donated and then auctioned at our annual Trash to Treasure Auction and Wine Tasting Event to raise money for breast cancer research. There are pictures of last year's auction in a previous post.

The Junk Bonanza will be our first major sale of our rescued, recycled and repurposed creations. Should be fun!!!

As you can see, I’ve been on several search and rescue missions already so I have a garage full of ‘parts’ just waiting to be repurposed into something cool. I have an assortment of chairs and chair parts, doors, shutters, spindles, galvanized cans, bowling pins, fans, wicker, iron and enough miscellaneous other stuff that my car has been parked in the driveway for a couple of months.

I am looking forward to several creative marathons where I spend quality and quantity time with my sander, drill, paint sprayer, hammer, glue, clamps, …..

Just imagine the possibilities! Mark your calendars for Sept 11 – 13. This Junk Bonanza will be awesome!
